Beginning a new history of Palestine is rooted in the birth of an illegitimate child of the UK (Israel) & its aftermath. Some of the most important events in this historical section are:
1. Declaration of Israel existence
On 2 April 1947 (Solar Calendar: 12 Farvardin 1326) the United Nations (UN) convened at the request of the UK government, to discuss the Palestinian issue & its political future; Outcome of the meeting approved the division of Palestine into a Jewish state, an Arab state and a UN-controlled territory around Jerusalem.
Declaration
of that partition plan (which was adopted with UN "GA Resolution 181”)
& UK decision to
withdraw from Palestine
on 15 May 1948 (24 Ordibehesht 1327) (at the end of the British mandate) led to
escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Finally, Zionists overcame the
Palestinians guerrilla force, led by Abdul Qadir alHussaini Vaqavaqchy, and
declared the independence & establishment of the state of Israel.1
